NCAA announces new laws for D1 recruiting. Nothing announced for D2, D3 or JUCO.

Nut shell..... D1 recruiting starts at Sept 1 Junior Yr. D1 Coaches can't have "any type of recruiting" contact with a player till that date. Including TB and HS coaches
What does that say about a player that's already verble commit now before Sept 1 date. Thats just it. Its a verble. No coach Contact till Sept 1 Jr year.

Looks like those 14U players verble to D1 may need to wait 2-3 yrs or so.

Well lets see. Since I have no dog in this now and mine is in college playing now. She committed/verbled her Jr yr. She has asked if she might have made mistake by playing. I told her that we are there now. You have 2 yrs left try and finish strong. Do your best and enjoy the ride, soon it will be over.

My Opinion which is not to much. "IF" a girl is good enough to be recruited in the 7th-8th grade that is fantastic. I applaud her. Then they should be good enough in the 11th grade. Its much easer for a girl to be hungry and dedicated in MS grades w less distractions. But be dedicated and focused in HS w all those distractions and peer pressure. I think college coaches at that time will have a better understanding of who they are getting. I know of today 3 SR girls at one local HS that verbled as Freshmen or Soph. Today they are not going to play ball in college. Their choice to not go play.

I think down the road 3-4 yrs will see this to be a good thing. If over 80% of the D1 coaches voted for the rule change. That speaks for it self..............
