[/LIST]This is not a new Team forming however this is the TC THUNDER 03 Team who in which is very excited to join the Firecrackers Organization. We want to thank the Firecrackers NC for giving us this opportunity.
We are a combination of 03's and 04's but we are not opposed to looking at 02's.

We have our own Indoor Facility that is equiped with a Cross Fit Section, Cage, Hitting Stations, Pitching Lanes and that still leaves us with about 1000Sq' for fielding drills. The Team is currently doing winter conditioning along with honing in on mechanics. Contact me if you would like to join our workouts during the week.

    We are looking for:
    • A solid infielder to share time at SS/2nd/3rd during certain pitching combinations.
    • Will always look at pitchers/catchers.
    • Solid outfielder with speed.
    • most of all we are looking for the 3-C's (Character, Commitment, and Confidence) from the player and parents.
    Thanks,
    Winston Puryear

Charlotte Magic 14u Wright still looking for a few players

The Charlotte Magic 14u Wright are still looking for 2-3 players to complete their 2015 roster. We play only in the A division of ASA, NSA, and showcase tournaments. This team is geared towards young ladies who want to play in college, develop leadership skills, and push themselves to learn from mistakes. The team is coached by Myka Wright Cygielman, a former collegiate coach and All-California shortstop and catcher, Nicole Stovall, a senior captain left slapper/hitter and outfielder at Belmont Abbey, and Mallory Broome, a junior and starting pitcher at Western Carolina University.

We are looking for versatile players who play one or more of the following positions (all players on our roster must play multiple spots):

Catcher - Because we have a catching coach on the staff, our catchers are given a tremendous amount of responsibility. They do not stand by the coach and catch infield practice. In addition to advanced catching skills Coach Myka teaches how to control the pace of the game, the correct way to navigate umpires, and mental toughness and attitude. Our catchers are taught to call their own games and will work with all pitchers on the staff. Myka also knows the difference between a passed ball and a wild pitch. ;)

Pitcher - Coach Mallory works with our staff in the style of each individual's own pitching coach. She reinforces what they are being taught off of the field and adapts her style to each player. Mallory is given free-reign of the pitchers and is supporting them from practice to pregame to the post game talk. She knows what it is like to throw a perfect game as well as struggle on the mound. Our pitchers are a true staff and we throw whomever we think will be the most effective in any given situation - same as college ball.

Middle Infielder - The leader of the field, our middle infielders need to be smart, solid, and respected by their teammates. We expect them to be true commanders on the dirt, but also pliable enough to take critiques and input. All of the coaches on staff are extremely comfortable in the leadership position and we stress the mental game in this spot as much as we teach the physical technique.

First Base - An often under-appreciated position on the field, our first basemen are valued and respected for not only going above and beyond to scoop a bad throw, but also for the day to day work they put in. Our position players give lots of credit where credit is due and recognize that their own diving grab would be nothing without the stretch on the other end. Additionally, because our catchers are encouraged to throw and pick, this is one corner that never gets boring.

We will keep these positions open until we find the right fit. Please contact Coach Myka for more information or to set up a workout. 805-403-2884 or [email protected]. You can find more about the Magic on our website Charlotte Magic 14u Travel Softball

NC Firecrackers 16U Tryout Sat 1/10

Due to extremely cold weather, we are moving this tryout to Saturday, January 17th. Location and time will remain the same as below:

We are holding a tryout for the 16U Firecrackers team Saturday, January 10th at Forsyth Country Day School Softball Field, 5501 Shallowford Road, Lewisville, NC 27023 from 1-3 pm. We need a few more great players, and the goal is to get the roster finalized over the next few weeks. This is for serious softball players, who have a goal of playing at the highest competitive levels available, and have a desire to play in college. If this sounds like something for your player, please plan on joining us on Saturday. If we run into weather issues, we will plan to reschedule to the following Saturday.

For those of you that are not familiar with the Firecrackers, they are one of the most premier girls softball organizations in the country, and are just now moving into North Carolina.

I really invite you and your daughters to check out the Firecrackers website where you can review firsthand what type of organization they are:

    Firecrackers Softball

The Firecrackers NC are fortunate to also have Taryne Mowatt, a 2-time National Champion pitcher with Arizona, winner of 2 ESPY's and former NPF player as the pitching coach/pitching director for our organization. We also have our own private indoor facility where will will provide year-round training where we will give more to our players and parents than just a uniform and tournaments!

Our mission is to provide a level of training to our players that ensures the highest level of social and athletic development and growth. Playing the game professionally, having self-respect, and respecting others are the core values that this program was built upon. Being a Firecracker means you understand that you are beautiful, certain of yourself, and very capable of playing this game. Most importantly, you are striving to make the decisions that will provide you happiness for the rest of your life.
The Firecrackers organization is dedicated to the progressive advancement of players both as athletes and young ladies. It is our goal as an organization to teach our players important life lessons through the game of softball, such as discipline, hard work, commitment, perseverance and the value of teamwork.

We are proud of the success that Firecracker players have experienced in Travel Ball, at the College Level, at the Professional Level and at the National Team Level. It is the goal of the coaching staff to provide an environment to develop the individual skills of each of our players to the best of our ability. We will also emphasize to all members the importance of team play and accomplishing our goals as a team. We know that we will incur failure over the course of the year, but understand that making mistakes is an opportunity to learn.

Although individual awards and accolades are great, it is our belief that nothing beats accomplishing goals as a TEAM, because when the team succeeds, we all succeed, no matter what individual role we played in that success. And we want to promote the success of all travel ball players, not just Firecrackers.

If you have any questions, contact Coach Pennell at [email protected], 704-763-3902 or Coach Nozet at [email protected], 925-437-5429.
