Metrolina Christian wins Independent 3A State Title

    Metrolina Christian ended their regular season both as conference & tournament champions in the Metrolina Athletic Conference.
    This being MCA's first year in the 3A Division, Metrolina took home the North
    Carolina Independent School 3A State Title under the leadship of senior
    pitcher Mallory Broome. She pitched 17 shutouts (6 no-hitters) this season
    for the Lady Warriors. She struck out 342 batters, setting the schools single season strike out record.

    Metrolina won both of their semi-final games on Friday defeating Providence Day 1 to 0 in eight innings of play and Charlotte Christian 2 to 0.
    On Saturday, Metrolina faced High Point Christian in Game 1 of the Championship. It was a pitching dual that lasted 16 innings, but Metrolina came up short losing 2 to 3.
    The "IF" game was played and the Lady Warriors came out on top winning 3 to 1. The Warrior's finished the season with a record of 24-2.

    Congratulations to all the girls and coaches! Awesome job Mallory! I know Mom and Dad are proud. (I know Ashley would say she never doubted it, after being on the receiving end of some of that outstanding pitching!) ;)

    Congrats to Metrolina, way to go Bailey and Macy Bjorson!!, that family is loaded with talent!

    Congradulations to Metrolina, very classy team. And Metrolina pticher was as good as talked about, very good games on Saturday, there was also another pitcher that pitched very well and just fell a little short. Cayla Cecil pitched 33 innings on Saturday and gave up 3 earned runs. HPCA coming out of the losers bracket had to play 3 games on Saturday. It was fun to play but very nerve racking, both teams fought to the very end.
