    Hannah Pennell (Statesville, NC/West Iredell) of Greensboro College has been picked the USA South Conference Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week.

    The Statesville freshman tallied a 3-0 record in three complete-game appearances last week for The Pride. In a 5-1 win over Bluffton, Pennell allowed one run on five hits with eight strikeouts. In a 6-1 victory over Geneva, Pennell allowed one run on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Finally, in a 6-0 win over #8 ranked Coe, Pennell pitched the shutout by allowing just three hits with one walk and one strikeout.

    Thanks old friend for posting update, Hannah is another Cobra that assisted the Blues several times and performed so well! She had to pitch every game for me against some college teams and was stellar! Charlie and his staff did a great job with their kids, they were always prepared and had that attitude, you have to beat us, cause we will not beat ourselves! Nice job Hannah, good luck!

    Congrats Hannah!!! Always good to see NC girls make good, but especially this kid. Keep rocking girl, can't wait to see some Guilford/Greensboro games next year.

    Donnie I know that you and Gay are smiling from ear to ear right now. You guys have raised a fine young lady. All the hard work that you and Hannah have put in is really paying off, I am sure you have got scars on those shins to prove it. Great job Hannah, keep working hard and things most of the time will go your way. Good luck the rest off the year and you know that we love you. Rodney thanks for those nice words, we felt the same way when we faced the Lady Blues.
