    Lady Indians Softball Team Opens their Season with a 5-3 Record News - Latest Articles The Lady Indians opened up their season in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday January 30, 2010. The Lady Indians knew going into the tournament that the competition would be stiff (seven of the fifteen teams at the tournament are nationally ranked). The Lady Indians used the weekend as both a learning and coaching opportunity. With several Lady Indians out due to injuries and others coming off of injuries both players and coaches were hard press to fill positions with players. The Lady Indians displayed an impressive performance while in Las Vegas. The Lady Indians left Vegas with a 5-3 record which included a notable win over 7th ranked Chattanooga State Community College. In this matchup freshman pitcher Emma Stevenson only allowed two hits and no earned runs in a 3-1 victory. Another freshman showcased her skills hitting a 3 run homerun in the 5th inning. The Lady Indians came out of this weekend with a greater since of unity and respect for each other. They have grown together as a team and have discovered that they can rely on each other both on and off the field. The Lady Indians would like to thank the parents, fans, and members of the appreciation club who were able to make the journey to Vegas. We would also like to thank those who followed the games on line. The Lady Indians appreciate all your support and look forward to a great season.

    Emma never let size or anything else hold her back! Hard work and a true love for softball has made her a special pitcher,player, and teammate! Go Emma, we are all proud to follow your progress and success.
