Rules that are silly and/or don't make sense

I didn't know the catcher was credited with a putout on a strikeout. That helps it make a little more sense now. Seems like they could have changed the rule to give the pitcher the putout on a strikeout whether the catcher catches the ball or not. When you strike out, you are out and cannot advance but the ball is still live and the other runners are free to do whatever they want.

 

Something simple abused

If the league or associations say no jewelry then why not just abide by the rule. NO means NO. If you don't like it go somewhere else. I'll bet the kids don't even think about and it's a parents that pushes the rule. If the league uses it as a safety issue. Say OK or you don't play.....
Go to Carowinds and get on the roller coaster and the tell the attendant that you don't want to wear the safety collar. Guess what? you don't ride.

 

the protective cup rule. Baseball players have to wear the cup, softball players don't. why is that?

also, each team gets three outs in its half of an inning. why three? couldn't it just as easily be two? or four? just a dumb rule that needs to be repealed. same with three strikes and your out and four balls and you take a walk. why those numbers? It makes no sense.

 

I don't think JavelinCatcher was referring to things that make cheapskates like you cry like a baby. He/She meant rules as they specifically apply to the game. There are plenty of schools that don't charge admission to athletic events. Are they in violation of the "rules"? Please stop making these retarded comments.
