we've had this discussion many times before. hs is just like travel ball in that you have good coaches and "lesser talented" coaches. some do it for the love of the game and the girls......others for the money (all $0.35/hour).

if your names arent being turned in by your coach, i suggest that you take it up with your school AD and see if this could be turned around. Your AD can make the nominations as well as your head coach.

but either way, remember its hs, only four years long and try and make the best of it.

    good luck this summer..

Amen. Awards and trophies are nice when earned during school, BUT the bigger prize should be life lessons from God in dealing with being humble and adapting to adversity. You will win your battle once you get into college. You will also win once you have learned how to "adapt, overcome, and maintain." Become an active member of your team and support it more than ever without bashing it. Positive karma will overrule negative energy.

    Great Advice...

Softballaholic, you should really take head to what Mr. Nathan just posted. We have all been where you are at one point or another in life...may have been a bad coach, bad boss, bad friend, etc., etc. We all have to be able to move forward with life despite the stumbling blocks placed in our paths.

High school is a time that you have to focus on friends and relationships that you make and a time to develop the skills that God has blessed you with in preparation for the next steps. Enjoy your friends, work hard in the classroom and on the softball field and leave after your 4 years with no personal regrets of what might have been. Noone can take away your pride and integrity in a job well done.

    Go to your coach

....look SBaholic, go to your coach and help him/her in understanding whats up in the HS gig.
BUT!!!!!!, before you go, make doggone sure you have your ducks in a row.
Don't sling snot about what did or did not materialize this past season, focus on the years to come.

My suggestion to you here is to post a new thread, presenting to TBR, what advice the members offer to you that you can take to your coach.

Hey hun, you've got LOTS of company when it comes to "less than average coaching issues".

Listen to the folks on TBR, hell, get your coach on TBR, you'll be fine.

I like the way Nathan put it better, Fishman, but I know you mean well. And you can tell what kind of person Softballaholic is by her "Thanks yall" response. Don't know her, but that tells me she's a good one.

You do make a very good point; if the coach was on TBR that would make a big difference in her success as a coach. Maybe Softballaholic will take your advice and get her coach on board.

To Softballaholic: Now that you're a Senior, from your past experience, you know how you should treat your underclassmen. You're one of the leaders now; a role model. Make a difference!!
