It was only fitting that the ending of this game was as exciting as it could get. After four days of traveling up to Taylorsville and a three plus hour rain and lightning delay. Everyone present saw a game( actually three innings) they will talk about for years.

It was unbelievable how the AC ground crew (coaches, parents, players, and children) got the field in playing condition. I thought the game would be rescheduled again for sure.

There had to be 700 pus fans in the stands when play resumed at 9 PM and they were loud rooting for their AC team.

Melinda Collins came to bat with two out in the top of the seventh trailing 3-2. With a two strike count on her, the crowd on their feet cheering for a strike out, but held their collective breath when, Melinda launched one to left. I thought it was gone when it left her bat but somehow it stayed in the park hitting a AC banner in left field and bounced to Megan Laxton who made a perfect throw to second base where Tara Hajer was covering and applied the tag. Blue called her out, game over.

Melinda might have hit the ball to good because had it hit the ground first and not the banner it might not have bounced back to Laxton and she would have made second easily and I might still be there.
