Panthers Looking Solid !!

Yesterday’s game between Piedmont and West Stanly was an exciting as they come with two solid ball teams head to head. Both pitchers were doing an awesome job on the mound with nasty change-ups and hitting their spots as well as anybody. Kudos goes to the West Stanly team coached very well and the young ladies were very good sportsman. Piedmont this year look very solid on defense, and with the lefty,( Taylor Flynn ) on the mound, and freshman catcher ,Taylor Barrineau look well suited to reach far into the playoffs. Behind her is probably one of the best infields in the state, playing @ 3rd base Junior Courtney Barrineau who is like a Hoover vacuum cleaner making great catches guarding the line, @ SS Rebekah Reaves who yesterday with her cannon arm saved two hits from occurring as her opponents hit two balls deep in the 5/6 hole, but with her strong arm was able to throw both runners out, also she leads the team with HR’s / doubles. Next is 2nd baseman Casey Baucom, (Catawba College Signee) who has made the transition to 2nd base nicely and has help solidify the infield, finally 1st baseman Shelby Baucom who also over the summer joined a swim team ,and has built up her upper body ,and has multiple hits that have obtained her leading the team with RBI’s. In the outfield we have freshman Sarah Carson, Eileen McCue, Hailey Whitley, who all contributed to the 5-0 record thus far this season. Next week will be the straw that breaks the camels back, the Piedmont Panthers will play Parkwood, Marvin Ridge the other unbeaten team, and the conference champs from last year Hickory Ridge behind awesome pitcher Emma Stevenson. If the Panthers can get through next week unbeaten this may tell the story for the rest of the season!!

The rest of the story. From the story I got. The story you tell is correct. But need to add Piedmont gave up 2 hits and 0 runs AND WS gave up 2 hits and Piedmont scored because of a big error.... Both pitchers pitched no hit type games. I was told game lasted about 1 hr......

Piedmont will host Strong Vincent a team out of PA.that they will play on 4/1/09 @ 4:30 P.M. Should be a great game !!
