    Nice shots! It looks like

the AC pitcher lands at a 90 degree angle with her left foot and the Butler pitcher lands at about a 45 degree angle. Is one way better the the other?

    Nice Job!

Great Pictures! Thanks! Great action shot on that call at the plate - amazing that she was called safe. One thing you can't tell from the angle is that her foot missed the plate by about 8" - but clearly the tag was made before she got there.
That one play in the end, had no effect on the outcome. Butler's bats had holes in them.....
Great Game by Both Teams! Monty is fun to watch!!

Due to landing at a 90 degree angle causing more stress on the ankle and knee I believe a 45 degree angle would be preferred. My daughter has a habit of landing with her foot at a 90 and her pitching coach stays on her to try to straighten it out to more of a 45.

As far as how it affects the pitch itself, I don't think it makes any difference.

Looking at the picture it appears she is touching the plate with her hand. Can't tell if the tag is applied first by looking at the picture though.

    Thanks for the photos.

The fishman doesn't know any of these kids, well, maybe a few by name, but WOW!!, these kids look serious about the game.
My dad, God bless his soul, used to say, "if you look like a ballplayer, you can play like a ballplayer". These kids are players.
What he was saying is if the kids, parents, coaches respect the game, and try to be the best that they can be, it will show, win or lose the game, fine.
In the end, the kids are all winners.

BTW, I love the pic, 5 or 6ish, where the kid is sliding into home, and the ump is wailing his arms safe!

    Nice thread, Fishman

    tag

yeah, tag was made in second photo - on shoulder, before she got her hand near the plate - no big deal - I wouldn't want the Ump's job for sure...
And, doesn't matter, it's all part of the game. The pictures were Fantastic! Bug, you have a great eye.
    Bottom line,
Hard fought game on both sides... all the players involved benefitted from the experience!

    Umpire

This umpire needs to retire before he gets hurt. I have seen him work with no chest protector and not squating behind the catcher. Nothing personal with Blue but he is going to get hurt.........
