Nothing has been done to prompt this thread. But each year we like to bring it up to remind our new members of what we are trying to accomplish

There are so many topics that can be discussed that will aid a player, parent or coach. There are some topics that may make you smile or laugh. There are some that are entertaining. There are some that are heart rendering. There are some that are personal....but they are all helpful to someone. But when one wants to find warts in HS baseball/softball and wants to discuss it on here...who is it helping? What information is it providing that will help a player and their family? How is it shining a light on a player that will get the attention of a recruiter? How is it shining a light on a player that is not a stud, but will make him feel just a little bit better that someone recognizes his/her effort.

See, Larry Davidson and I developed this site to "shine the light" on a sport that received little or no recognition. We want to promote the players and teams that did something well with the purpose of helping to provide exposure to HS sports in an environment that is positive. We want to encourage participation from HS coaches and college recruiters in an environment that is not known for their participation.

Why would they do that? Because they feel comfortable that the opinions they share will be received in a positive way. They feel they are sharing their experience and giving something back. But there is a reason they do that on here vs another website. They feel comfortable and they feel they are helping. But if they feel uncomfortable or awkward...they are gone faster than dbacks plate of food. They don't need or want the aggravation. So who is the real loser when that happens?

I want everybody to enjoy TBR, but please keep in mind it is about the players and keeping it positive. If it's not something you would want to read about involving your son or daughter....then don't post it.

    Great

Very good post! As we get ready to begin HS softball and continue on into the summer travel schedule, let's all make a pack to provide a positive environment for all the young ladies that play the great "team" game of softball! Sure we must provide some constructive criticism or guidance to assist our players to improve but there is never a need for personal attacks, downgrading, cushing, or any other abusive language by anyone associated with a HS, travel, or college team.
NC softball has come a long way in the past five years and we need to all work together to keep that improvement escalating. We still overall have a ways to go to match western and southern teams on a regular basis but have proved that our "teams" play together as a unit as good or better than any where in country.
Best of luck to all, I will continue to support and cheer for all NC teams every where they play!
