Wonder what the life span on the new $250 synergy will end up being. At what point in the process of turning white does the ump say you can't use it any more? On a side note.....odd color choice, after the blue, and the silver synergys of old.

"Synergy Clarity complies with all 2008 bat performance standards including ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, SSUSA and ISF. Visual breakage reveals performance levels that exceed the 98 MPH limits. The Clarity has a fiberglass laminate finish that will delaminate or turn white when the performance of the bat exceeds 98 MPH association standards. Don't know about the "clarity" but I'm a believer in the gray. Just missed the UPS delivery on one today. Guess we won't be able to start delaminating until tomorrow night.

OK Chuck I should have listened to you and Barry a couple of years ago....but noooooo...shiny and new is always better......yeah right.

As explained to me by Easton:

The laminate finish of the Clarity Synergy or Stealth if it is tampered with ,in an attempt to accelerate the break-in period of the bat.
ie ( rolling it, shaving etc ), will show white lines that run the along the body of the bat.

Normal break-in through swings will not effect the laminate finish.

    I quess time will tell.

    Same as always.....

    Per Easton,
These bats will have a break in period similar to what it has always been...the more you swing it, the faster it will break-in....

Only difference, these bats are coming out of the wrappers at 90-92 mph, and will max out at 98mph when broken in properly...

Years past, the bats were 98 mph out of the wrapper, and would increase from there during break in...
