Just got a call from his RMA assistant coach with the great news for this young man. Not long ago he was in little league and people were saying he is to small to ever make it. Congrats.

    Congrats

If you have not seen this kid pitch yet you need to. He is very good and is only going to get better. Great kid from a wonderful family. Hobbs is very talented with one of the best hooks I have seen in quite awhile from a lhp. He has a very good fastball to go along with that off speed stuff and he really can locate as well. This is a great pick up for UNC. Congrats Hobbs and good luck this coming hs season.

Congrats to a fine young man. Superior athlete, very talented in several sports, had he desired he could very well have played college soccer. I had the opportunity to coach him when he was 10 and he has always been a cut above.

    Good Luck Hobbs.

    A big honor

    WWBA 16U Championships

The 16u WWBA Championship game came right down to the wire. A back and forth game between the Jack Cust Diamond Jacks and Richmond Braves that had four lead changes was ultimately decided in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and the bases loaded, a single to left field by Patrick Harrington was all the Richmond Braves needed to overcome a 3-2 deficit to walk off the field with a 4-3 victory. Congratulations to the Richmond Braves who are the 2008 16u WWBA Champions!

The Co-Most Valuable Players of the 136 team 16u WWBA Championship are Mitchell Shifflett of the Richmond Braves and Thomas Zengel of the Jack Cust Diamond Jacks. The Most Valuable Pitcher for the tournament was Hobbs Johnson. Shifflett went 11-25 with 12 runs and 6 steals as the spark plug for the Richmond Braves offense
