Not trying to cause a ruckus or anything (who, me??? never) But went online with a coworker last night trying to find game times for Siler City this weekend and found this link

http://www.playwfc.org/wfcnews.asp THIS LINK NO LONGER WORKS

If you are supposed to be playing this weekend or any weekend soon, you might want to check with Ben and see what is going on.

Would hate for anyone to have a girl get hurt and not be playing for an insured tournament.

Hey Mama Duck, the N.C tourneys that were ran under W.F.C are no longer W.F.C they are IFA international fastpitch association and there is insurance just so everyone knows.

I don't know everything in this one, but I heard a little about the other side of the story. As silly as this sounds I think this one may be headed to the courts.

    Can someone fill me in?

The link just indicates a blank news page for me.

Friend's daughter was injured at a WFC event a month ago and has to speak with them re: insurance - girl will be in rehab for several months.

And....have several friend's whose children will be playing in upcoming WFC events. Are these events, then, cancelled? What about quals for the Battle at the Beach, etc?

    Thanks ;)

    Edited their website

Sorry that WFC has edited their website and removed the story the link referred to. It looks like they have also updated their tournament schedule to include their fall dates.

From what I was looking at the other night, it is only affecting tournaments held in the Siler City, Greensboro area but those at the beach are still being held.

I would say contact Ben Wofford with any concerns you may have.

Like I said before, not trying to cause trouble, just don't want to see anyone left out to dry.

to tell the truth, the initial post about the former tournament director was a bit on the direct side and i hope they can back up what they accused him of, they didnt hide anything on this post period. i wouldnt have laid that out for everyone to see, it would seem that they have set themselves up for a slander/defamation of character lawsuit period.

I wasn't going to say anything, Cheeze, but I totally agree. They probably should have solicited some legal advice before posting what they did. Those were some pretty tough comments......

For the curious... can you summarize the allegations without naming any names on any side? In 10 words or less would do.
