one of the first dominate pitchers my family witnessed in travel ball was Crystal Cox, oh this kid could throw and make you look sad in the box. I know for some of you, this was a little before your time, but do we have any stories about Crystal and crew from the old gang. The last year before she went off to college, the parents of her tb team would sit in the stands banging cow bells.......oh gawd that racket was aweful....

    stories??

Crystal is currently associated with the Carolina Cardinals Black 14u - moving up to 16u

Cardinals are lucky to have her as she is an outstanding pitching coach as well as a very positive influence on the team.

The Carolina Cardinals 14u Black are now simply the Carolina Cardinals-Black. They will play strictly 18u showcase tourneys and 16u ASA qualifiers to make Nationals. The indoctrination begins this weekend as they play all 18u teams.

My DD is one of Crystal's pitchers and Dawgswood will agree on the improvements she has made in my DD over the past year. She not only fixed some mechanics and taught her some breaking stuff, she also helps with the mental part of the game.Changed my DD from a thrower to a pitcher, she's the best!

Advice given at Carolina pitching camp

    Tongue in cheek I suspect.

"If you intend to walk a batter don't waste four pitches doing it" . . . hmmm....... Seems like a logical approach for a screwball pitcher and Crystal had the best one I've seen from someone who was legal (in the pitching lane) most of the time.

Crystal was definately one of the best high school pitcher if not the best of all time. Simply amazing, in the national record book for several accomplishments.

Crystal is not only a great player, but a great person. I had the privledge of watching my DD and her play for Carolina for four years and it was a blast. I also got to know Crystal's parents, Carrol and Linda...and grandma (boy can she make a great cake) and they are a lot of fun too...although, they never brought a cow bell to the game.
