    Char Meck League

    The Char Meck web page is a good source for information about the history of fast pitch and the Char Meck organization. www.charmecksoftball.org OPRA, Southpark, Park Sharon and Weddington started Char Meck while they still played slow pitch and did not convert to fast pitch until 1998. I believe you are correct in that the high schools converted in 1994. Not really sure when MHAA and MARA converted as they joined Char Meck in 2001. The Curve, Lady Blues, Magic & QCR were some of the first fast pitch organizations with more than one or two teams. I coached my DD's in 18U & 14U back in 1999 and 2000 and the number of teams and tournaments were much smaller than today. 3 or 4 team tournaments were the norm. Blaze was organized in 2003 as one of the first travel organizations based in south Charlotte.

    Great news P. You know that meniscus tears are called "jumper's knees". You might want to tell Grandma to refrain from dunking basketballs anymore.

    I'm glad to hear she is doing well.
