A great then electric start to the ASA States 16u over in Mallard Creek Park.

The Carolina Crush, Wildcats, Tressel's Attitude, CFS Black, and Bombs sat back for about 45 minutes waiting on the spectacular lightening storm to pass - but it settled in sending these teams home without a pool game.

Action starts again this morning. I'll do what I can to lend a hand to Comet's picture taking efforts

Great finish to the Wildcats v. CFS Blacks tonight - Bottom of the inning, Wildcats home team, down by 1, bases loaded - Jordan Scarboro knocks a grandslam HR putting an exclamation mark on it.

Bombs defeated Attitude Tressel in 1 inning of international OT, with bases loaded, 2 outs, and Mary-Scott, "Scoot", slapping a beautiful hit over SS, bringing home the winning run.

Who won? Was there only one national berth available?

 

Carolina Attitude / Plemmons eventually won in the 10th or 11th inning over the Knockouts. It was 8:30pm at that time and the Attitude elected to forfeit to the Carolina Wildcats.

As some of the other post have stated I agree with this decision. The Attitude had been there since 7:00am and its not worth risking injury and well being.

This should give the 16U ASA berth to the Wildcats. Not sure if the Attitude / Plemmons was considering going to the Nats anyway since they are still 14U eligible. They were just looking for stiffer competition to prepare for the future. Luck of the draw had them play the Wildcats in first bracket game. Lost 2 - 1 in the bottom of 7th and was their only loss on the weekend.

Good young ball team that certainly earned respect form the older teams this weekend.

my DD has played this team maybe 10 or 11 times over the years with about a 50-50 split. I have always been impressed with this team, the coaches handle everything with class and grace. They have tought the girls to play the game and enjoy doing it.

Congratulations to the Carolina Wildcats!
They played some great ball this weekend.
They also played some great teams.
Plenty of competition to go around.
Special props to Attitude Plemmons. They really brought it to the field and left every bit of it between the lines.
IMO the right decision was made for the championship.
Safety of the players should come first. They had to be tired and one is much more prone to injury in that condition. They accomplished alot and had much to be proud of this weekend.
