Watauga Hires Jeff Link from East Burke as AD

The Watauga County Board of Education officially named Jeff Link as the county’s new athletics director.

Link has been athletic director of East Burke High School since 2006. Prior to his time at East Burke, he taught at South Caldwell for eight years. He will take over for Lavell Hall, who is retiring after the school year. School officials have also started the search for a new football coach. WHS Coach Adrian Snow announced earlier this year he’s leaving the post. Interviews for the position began yesterday.


Alot of people have known about this before now but I just thought I would pass it along for those of you who didn't. This was approved at a board meeting last night.

We welcome Jeff to the High Country, and I specifically look forward to working with him over his course at Watauga. In my opinion we have found a great one and hope that he finds home in Watauga county. Should be a great new school year with our new AD, FB Coach and Principal.

 

Jeff is a great guy....I only know him personally....man i could tell the stories!

 

Man everyone from EB is jumping ship. Wonder why? I can see moving from a school AD to a county AD as a major step up ($$$$). Best of Luck to him up on the Mountain.
