Let's post here our thanks and admiration to our school volunteers.

Marvin Carpenter-Nash Central High School. If you go to one of the baseball games be sure not to stop and eat before you get there. Marvin has been cooking for the Bulldogs for all 6 years that the school has been open. The food is the best in the Eastern region: Chicken Quarters, Pork Chops, Ribeyes, Steak Fries, Corn on the Cobb, and I swear he grilled Lobsters one game. He does all this before and during the game BUT he also manicures the field hours before the games and stays at least 2 hours after the games making sure everything is cleaned. He truly loves the game but I tell you he misses most of the action including some of his son's at bats when he played there two years ago. YES he is still a volunteer long after his son graduated. I also want to thank Marvin for all he did for the Stretchlon Stars for years.

Tell us about your star volunteers OR tell us what you do for your team.

He would never want me to put this on here, but I have too.

Reggie Robertson - Alamance County native and long time volunteer assistant coach at Williams High School. American Legion Post 63 assistant coach. Has coached various levels of youth leagues for years. Runs the Alamance Civitans Rec leagues for football and baseball. Donates hours to each of these areas that is unfathomable to most. I respect him as a person, coach and friend. I have yet to meet someone that works as hard for others and never wants any, any credit. I could type for days on here and only begin to scratch the surface of what he does for the young men in this area. If you are ever driving through Alamance County and want to find him its pretty easy.

Weekends - during school ball, on the Willimas baseball field.
Weekends - during summer ball, on the Graham HS baseball field/Legion field
Any random weekend - at the civitan fields

    Absolute Worker!

If the field work is done(for him it never is), he is at a local HS game on a saturday, or if no one is playing, and Elon is home, you can find him there.

If for some reason he's not at any of those, it's probably deer season.

This post is actually doing him no justice. My apologies Mr. Robertson. I can't thank you enough.

What a nice post. I suspect Mr. Robertson would appreciate this post more than you will know.
