The college club team tourney at the USA Baseball Complex is looking for 1 or 2 showcase teams to fill out the brackets for this weekend. Any team interested in playing please email me [email protected] or call me 252-903-5734. NCST, UNC-defending champs, Wake Forest, UNC-Charlotte, Clemson, Virginia Commonwealth and the NCST Alumni team are already registered. Elon and Univ or Georgia have also been invited.

    Championship game

NCST defeated Clemson in the championship game which took 4 hrs to play at the Stadium field. Clemson scored 9 runs in the 1st inning before Coach Tunnell tossed a true freshman to the wolves only to have him go 7 2/3 innings allowing only 1 run while his team rallied and scored in every inning for a 19-10 come from behind victory. Go Wolfpack!! Next year Coach Tunnell and myself will host a tourney combining the best showcase teams with the best college club teams. I coached the Stretchlon Stars in this event in the past and it is a lot of fun for everyone involved.

There are some very fine players that play college club baseball. I know the twins that started and second base and catcher for the Lumberton team that finished 27-3, #3 final 4A ranking both play on UNC_CH club team. Both of those guys could have played college baseball if they had wanted to forgo a degree from their dream school.

No question about it. There are some mighty good players that are playing club baseball.

Oh, and BaseballMan, I saw Will Wilson this weekend and he asked me to say "Hi" to you

How did Will say that Rob was doing in law school? Going to miss seeing them around Wilson field this year.

He said that Rob has become the best flag football receiver in Wake's history. He also said he loves his 16 classmates in law school.
