Great read, great story with a deserving end. Thanks for sharing. Kudos to this site for helping a kid get to school who may not have gone at all.

    What Now

He is a senior this year at Belmont, right? I would love to hear about his year this coming season.

That is a good story. There is so much bad going on all the time and kids making so many bad choices. We had at least 3 kids that I know of in the last month overdose on Morphine just in Henderson County. One died last Friday and one is I think still in a coma. I like the way this kid not only works hard but took it upon himself to clean the dugout after the game. Some of our kids these days would think they were too good to clean up anything.

When his baseball career ends he will make a great employee also. If not employer.

I am so thankful that I found "This Board Rocks". Great board!

Andrew is a junior at Belmont Abbey this year. Over his two years at the Abbey he has been a very solid pitcher for the Crusaders. His freshman year was up and down at times, not unlike most freshman. He finished the year in the weekend at the conference tourney.

Last year Andrew struggled early, but came on toward the midway point in the season. In his last 17 innings he only gave up one earned run. Unfortunately, about 2/3 of the way through the season Andrew was complaining of pain under his pitching shoulder. Immediately, the worst rushes through your mind. Come to find out it was not his shoulder. Andrew had two blood clots in his lungs. He was forced to sit out the rest of the season on a high doseage of blood thinner.

This year Andrew is fully recovered and I expect him to have a break out year! He has been impressive this fall, with improved velocity and a pitching plan of a college pitcher.

Andrew maintains a 3.5+ GPA and is a phenomenal person. Tutors, and is a pleasure to be around. Keep up with him this year, I expect very very good things this season.

Andro- there is absolutely no way that a kid with his character will let a "bump" in the road get in his way. I fully expect before his career is over that he will be a GIANT with the Crusaders; but I do have a request.

Can you see, during the schedule with LR, that Andrew's turn does not come up. How could I ever root against him:helpsmilie::bucktooth:

    We'll see

    Braves,

I can't make that promise. LR usually takes Belmont Abbey out to the woodshed (Probably because the masterful mind of pitching coach John Hendricks). I would assume that the Crusaders will come in guns ablazin'.

Hope we don't see that righty

Haha...I don't know about that, but if he stays healthy it should be fun. He is already thrown harder than ever...with no pain. There is something to those bionic arms ya know.

But with the recruiting year BA had....dang, I wouldn't want to pitch aginst them.
