Who all thinks that Glavine is the last 300 game winner? I personally think that Randy Johnson is the only one that has a shot, and he might be done.....

by the way, i was in wrigley and got to see Glavine get his 300th in person, although I am a huge cubs fan, it was a great moment for baseball...a guy accomplishing a milestone the RIGHT WAY. And the cubs fans in attendance were great. Glavine got a hell of an ovation when he walked off the field.

Unless Randy Johnson has a tremendously siccessful surgery and rehab stint, he is most likely done at least as a 10 game winner. How long would he be willing to stick around if he is not as good as he wants to be? Would he be worth the salary committment for management?

I honestly believe that Tommy Glavine is the last for many years. Pitchers get fewer starts than 10-15 years ago, pitch fewer innings into the game with the advent of specialty guys in the pen... etc... but you've heard all of this before...

Glavine is on roids, i'm sure his name will get thrown out there for using roids.

All joking aside though, I do believe he will be the last unless the resurgance of RJ. I am really pull for RJ to come back healthy and get into the 300 club and call it a career. Glavine has been and will always be remembered as a class act. It is amazing to believe he has never been on the DL in his entire MLB career. He is most defiantly a first ballot for me into the HOF.

You never say never in this game. How many records have been broken that were "unbreakable"? But in all likelihood, Glavine is the last 300 game winner. Isn't it interesting that we now are in an era when 500 HR is no longer the super-majestic stat it once was and 300 wins may not be achieved again? Not complaining, just pointing out how the game has changed and the impact that has on stats and records.
