Mooresville High School New Turf Field

looks like they've begun the excavation. not much time though. a new rubberized track will also be installed.

 

I never thought I would sing the praises of artificial turf but this stuff is great. It's nothing like the old rugs over concrete. It looks good, is loved by players, and will contiunue to be used more and more at all levels. AC Reynolds has it as does all the Buncombe County Schools and it has been a big hit.

 

Turf Field

Turf fields are wonderful from a coach's perspective. When TC Roberson got their field a couple of years ago the coaches were more excited than anybody. That fake field freed up half their summer. No more worrying about the sprinklers, no more mowing, no more lining the field off, no more painting the field, no more worrying about practicing on the gamefield because the stuff is so durable. Keeping a beautiful grass field is a coach's nightmare. You wouldn't believe how much time is saved by having turf. Which if a coach is ambitious, all that energy directed towards the maintanence and up keep can be directed into more important endeavors. Fake fields are the stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!
