After he skipped basketball, the expectation was a stellar baseball season. So far, he's been average at best. Got shelled at WF today.

    you can say that again

what was it? 16-3? wow, hello MLB. he's got the tools, size, and strength to make bucks in the pros. he better start showing them. i saw him pitch twice this year and believe me, i know BBALL, he was deceiving with speed and delivery. maybe his ball wasn't moving around today. speed ain't stoppin' the great hitters. if the ball can't be thrown in a seam, it will be hit. hope the best for andy, but he ain't no miller! play safe

I said this before and i'll say this again in this thread. He should have kept every leverage he had by continuing basketball.....at least then he would have had a reason about getting off to a slow start.

Scouts aren't forgiving and won't make excuses for you...at least not when it comes to evaluating talent for the first 2 rounds,

Sbmom is correct...he is no Miller

    I think he'll still be a top 3 pick

Today's results were discouraging, but actually he was having a pretty solid season up until today. At 6-10, I think he has a little bit of trouble repeating his delivery at times, and command becomes an issue. Remember that Randy Johnson was nearly 30 before he figured it out and started throwing strikes. Early in his career he was walking 6 or 7 batters per 9 innings, and no matter how good your stuff is you can't get away with that. Someone will risk a lot of bucks that Brackman will figure it out, and that he'll do so much earlier than RJ. Remember, he missed nearly all of last year due to injury, and he is raw, but the potential he holds is a rare commodity. And, given his athleticism that he once displayed on the court, I think scouts will believe that he has a good chance to get his mechanics down and that he'll be able to maintain them consistently once he gets a little more experience.
