How about the Seminoles! They are now 23-0 (3-0) on the season after sweeping Wake Forest in three games (7-6 F11, 4-3, 11-1) over the weekend to extend the record for best start to 23-0, which was 18-0 before this year. Tony Thomas Jr. is leading the team in almost every hitting category batting .511. Mike Martin really has this team rolling.

    Just some stats:

    Team BA - .388
Average runs per game - 11.3
    Extra base hits - 72 doubles, 10 triples, and 9 HR's
    Team ERA - 2.70
    Fielding % - .969

In the next rankings, they will be #1. Coach Martin is finally getting the type players they were getting before. One's that don't sign out of HS.

He found out that the power guys sign pro contracts. He learned his lesson; quit trying to recruit a 1st round draft pick.

Better start making plans then. The ACC is an extremely strong conference..the SEC is even stronger. But there isn't any reason it can't be FSU this year.

    Stay tuned

Hasn't Florida State won the title before with martin? if not that is scary. Him and Leggett have been so close. Last summer I went to watch them play Georgia in the regionals in Athens and UGA was lucky to get out of that regional. Shane Robinson was a freak.

    never.

closest we got was one out away -- against miami of all teams -- back in 99. lost 6-5 the day after eliminating stanford in 13 innings. it was a fluke year to even be there. the team was young.
