I'm wondering if anyone would care to speculate on next year's lineup and pitching rotation.
According to the website reports freshmen, Dustin Ackley and Kyle Seager hit the ball well while Alex White and Jared Bard impressed on the mound in their Fall WS.
Looks like Flack and Fronk may be switching positions next season or Fronk could go to left.

The freshmen have been sensational so far. Dusty Ackley, Kyle Seager and Drew Poulk are as good as advertised. They will definately put some heat on the upperclassmen.

Alex White is one player they are counting on. They really would like to see him nail down the # 3 spot in the rotation.

Coach Fox will play with many different lineups through out the year. I have never bought into his style. I like a set lineup and sprinkle in a few new players during the season. But his style does allow many different players to get an opportunity. The downside to this is you can have a player that is HOT, then has to sit for a week or two.

If this was my team, here goes my lineup:

    - Cavasinni- cf
    - Seagar- 2nd b
    - Horton- ss
    - Flack- 3rd b
    - FedEx- c
    - Ackley- lf
    - Poulk- rf
    - Williams- DH
    - Fronk- 1st b

    Substitutes:

    Shelton- anywhere
    Bard- of
    White- 1st B
    Spencer- of, 1st B

That's a pretty good stab at it, but I doubt that 2 freshmen will be weekend starters in the OF ahead of Williams and Spencer. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seager at second. They have so many quality players, Fox could do a lefty/righty platoon at every position. Whoever they run out there, it should be a potent offense.
Assuming Woodard is #1, how does the rest of the rotation go ?
They lost nearly 300 innings of premium pitching from last year's squad.
Everyone remembers Miller and Bard, but Hovis had an even lower ERA last season and he is gone also.
Interestingly, the one area where the Tar Heels are going out of state is for left-handed pitching. What's the scoop on Capatano,Moran and Petiton ?

I listed Federowicz (FedEx)in the #5 spot. Kyle Shelton I listed, too. I see Shelton playing everywhere (utility). He will get some spot starts.

I have Williams starting, but I see him alternating the OF position with the other 2 freshmen. All 3 (Williams, Ackley and Poulk) will be in the lineup. Spencer has a lot of potential, but after 2 years, he still hasn't shown consistency at the plate. Last year, Matt started out strong, then hit a slump...and rarely played the 2nd half of the year. But, if the 2 freshmen named prove they will struggle with college pitching, then yeah...Matt will start. However, I believe they will hit college pitching.

They can't replace Bard and Miller...but who could?

Starting out, this will be the weekend starters.

    - Woodard
    - Putkonen
    - White

..and they have 2 very good relievers in Danford and Carignan. The Wednesday starter will be a battle. Adam Warren will get an opportunity to take this role, but it will be extremely competitive.

Wow...that would be scary. Seeing Fronk in the OF would be like watching the OF'ers in the AFLAC game.....dangerous. Reid would have to wear a flak jacket and a helmet. Fronk's a great athlete, but he would be better served to learn 1st B.

    can't resist this

ya'll are in there precisely with the Fox tendencies........having kids play all sorts of positions sometimes even out of their comfort zone, just thinking back to the nat. champ. game.

    Will the Beavers repeat?
