I can't believe no one is talking about this game. I heard Tommy Knotts saying this was the best WC team he has seen in years (probably since he was last there)....

Even though Knotts says this team is better than last years, I think some of the other opponents are catching up, talentwise (Butler, Providence, WC).

I believe their QB position is still problematic...I guess we'll see!

I, also, believe this is still the most talented team in the state and hope they can keep the streak alive...and if they do lose, it's not because they beat themselves.

Hey Law1ing...you've been away too long in Preps! When did you move to New Jersey?

Oh...I can't believe I said Knox..embarrassing to say the least, but I'm trying to give some of their competition hope :)

I know...that's what prompted my original post. MS, we don't get many posters from Charlotte in the football forum, so I'm trying to create some threads they might be interested in.

That's what's amazing to me. The team with the longest winning streak in the nation is sitting in your backyard, and some other pretty good football teams as well, but the interest is nearly zero.

I still don't understand why a radio station in Charlotte doesn't have a game of the week on radio. Look at how well the scoreboard shows are doing on TV. If it's done right, I don't think it would be that tough of a sell.

According to one of the local sports radio shows:

Each year, there's a big football weekend event in Ohio, matching the best teams in Ohio vs. the nation's best...
They said that Independence is signed up to play in this in '07.

    Should be interesting.

It's called the Herbstreit challenge or something like that.

here is the website for the event. it was created by former Ohio State QB and current ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit. No mention of Independence in 2007's field, but there seems to be a spot for two additional USA teams.

edit: the 2006 event is this weekend.
