On the Cherokee school website it said they are from Gaston County. If you look on Prince website schedule it doesn't mention playing Cherokee?
Is Pickens SC in Gaston County SC?

Just happened up on this in an article in Friday's paper.

"Tonight also marks the debut of Gaston County’s newest team, Prince Avenue North, a group of kids who didn’t have a school team or were unhappy or couldn’t play for their school. The Bulldogs open at Victory Christian in Charlotte."

Whatever the hell that means, but that's all I know, for now.

Here's a little more info in an article.

    PRINCE AVE. NORTH BULLDOGS

    Prince of a team

New team starts from scratch with high hopes

BY JONATHAN JONES Special to the Gazette

BESSEMER CITY — Jason Thomas is no stranger to coaching a first-year team — he helped start the program at Hope Christian last year. Now, he coaches a team that was literally made single-handedly.
The football program at Prince Avenue North, a sister school of Prince Avenue Prep in Pickens, S.C., is Thomas’ brainchild. Formed primarily for private school kids whose school did not have a football program, Prince Avenue North quickly turned into a program not only for private school kids, but also for kids who were unhappy or couldn’t play at their public school.
While athletes who play for the Bulldogs this year attend their own high school, if one wishes to continue playing under Thomas, then the player must transfer to the school when it opens next year.
“These kids passed their classes, but they missed too many days to be eligible,” said Thomas. “The kids I accept have to be in high school. I’ve probably turned down 20 kids who’ve already graduated.”
Thomas’ hottest commodity is senior running back John Gwinn, a player who followed Thomas from Hope Christian where he rushed for over 330 yards in the NACA championship game.
The 220-pound bruiser will be complemented by 250-pound fullback. Thomas planned to run a shotgun spread offense with an option attack; however, with such a large backfield, he couldn’t help but change his offense to the more traditional I-formation.
Handing the ball off to Gwinn will be junior quarterback Chris Odems from Shelby, whose arm and technique continue to improve. Backup quarterback Billy Shuler of South Point, who Thomas says has the better arm, will give the team the choice of going to air if the run game stalls. The two will be behind an offensive line that averages 295 pounds.
The two wide receiver positions will be filled with three championship rings.
Crest’s Arthie Phillips brings two 3A championships with him, along with 38 catches from last season. Javon Potts came with Thomas from last year’s Hope Christian team, where he was an all-conference selection.
On defense, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Jamie Frye will hold down the defensive end position along with Brandon Harrison. The 6-2, 235-pound Mario Dupree will play linebacker.
“Our biggest weakness is depth,” said Thomas. “But if we stay healthy, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t win at least 10 games.”
