    Wolfpack ACC Tournament Champs !!

The Pack , in only its 3rd year as a program, wins the ACC tournament championship to go along with its regular season title. They will now enter the NCAA regionals with the ACC's automatic berth.

    Go Pack!!

I knew that the day the "Twin Towers" signed with NCSU, that NCSU softball would be tough to deal with in the near future. Shaina and Miranda Ervin are a huge reason for the Wolfpack's success. Shaina was named Tourney MVP, congrats.

    Wolfpack defeated

No. 15 UL-Lafayette (49-10) downed No. 23 NC State (49-20) in the opening game of the NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge, La. by a score of 2-0. The Wolfpack pitching staff of Abbie Sims (23-13) and Shaina Ervin limited the high-powered Ragin' Cajun attack to just three hits, but the NC State offense managed just two singles and had a runner thrown out at the plate in the loss. NC State will face the loser of tonight's LSU/Princeton matchup at 4 p.m. central time on Saturday, May 20.

    state won

Earlier on Sat., State beat Princeton 1-0 in an elimination game. & they're leading La.-Laf. in the 5th inning of their 2nd game today, also an elimination game. S. Ervin has had another great pitching day. UPDATE: unfortunately NCSU lost this 2nd game of the day, 4-3 in 9 innings to the La.-Laf. team, so State is eliminated from the regional playoffs.

So the final record for the Wolfpack Lady Softball-ers: 50-21. Not bad at all. Great job Pack!!

Definitely a great season for the Pack. I know they wish it was still goin', but they had a heck of a season with several highlights. (Sweeping UNC in Chapel Hill to go to the ACC Title) :ylsuper:

    3rd pitcher?

I saw where NCSU went to a 3rd pitcher (Dalthorp) in the last game they lost at the regionals. The write-up seemed to indicate that S. Ervin was very effective as the 2nd pitcher that game, basically only giving up a solo HR.
Just was surprised to see the change to a 3rd pitcher.

    anyone know?

Maybe old news by now, but they'll have a new field ready for play in the spring. Phase 1 has begun now, entire job to be completed by the end of theyear. Full restoration/addition to the Derr Track facility.

    where?

Big Mark, will the softball stadium be in the corner of that parcel closest to Carmichael gym, across from Reynolds coliseum? Can't think of the name of the street that comes in from Mission Valley to Reynolds.
