LOL...'Fraid I can't take "credit" for that, NC! If I may have shown any tendencies to sandbag way back then (and, of course, I don't think I did...I just always told the truth as I saw it.), folks like you and Braves took the practice to a new and previously unimagined level! :trophy:

By the way, congrats to Elon on its spectacular, early season accomplishments! We're already trying to figure out how we're going to meet the challenge you'll pose for us in Chapel Hill in early April. We may need special dispensation from the NCAA to put an extra player on the field or something like that. :1peekdoor

... and you say you can't sandbag .... this is a TRUE MASTER folks.

Prep, do we have an avatar bet for the UNC/Elon game???

Out of the very same, superstitious impulse that prevents many players from stepping on the chalk when crossing onto the field, I concluded many years ago that if I ever wagered ANYTHING on a game of my son's, it would jinx his team. Yep, it's right up there with the "SI" cover and anything else ridiculous to which outcomes are attributed.

So, I guess I'll have to go without the Phoenix avatar this year...unless, perhaps, we can get that "extra player thing" going...

Yep ... you can have the 10th guy on the field, but I get to choose him and position him on the field.

He has to be the biggest guy on the team and stand halfway between the mound and home plate. Every time the pitcher "nails" him by accident, it's a balk. Of course, he can wear football gear in the field if he wants, but then he has to wear the football gear when batting.

That ought to negate the advantage enough.
