On Wednesday, High Point opens their season against Duke @ 3PM

On Friday, the action really picks up:
    Maryland-Eastern Shore @ UNC Wilmington 3 pm
    Delaware State @ Gardner-Webb 3 pm
Elon @ South Carolina 3 pm
High Point @ College of Charleston 5 pm
Hofstra @ NC State 3 pm
    Liberty @ Wofford 4 pm
Seton Hall @ Duke 3 pm
    VCU @ Longwood 2 pm
    VMI
    @ Mercer 4 pm
    Winthrop @ Alabama 6:30 pm
Missouri @ Charleston Southern 11 am
The Citadel vs. Virginia 12 pm @ Coastal Carolina
Campbell @ Coastal Carolina 4 pm
Maryland @ East Carolina 3 pm

... Winthrop is opening up with a very difficult schedule. They took 2 of 3 from Miami over the weekend after dropping the opening game. Wofford is 2-1 right now in games against Longwood. Georgia Southern is 1-1 after facing North Florida.

    On saturday, series also start:
Wake Forest @ Charlotte 12 pm
Georgia Tech @ Georgia Southern 1:30 pm
East Tennessee State @ Charleston Southern 11 am
Washington State @ Charleston Southern 2:30 pm
Campbell vs. The Citadel 11:30 am @ Coastal Carolina
Virginia @ Coastal Carolina 3:30 pm

Sunday games (other than continuing series)
Virginia @ Coastal Carolina 1 pm

This is probably the last light weekend. Next weekend, virtually every team will be in action in our region.

Georgia Southern snuck in a game earlier than what I was expecting. They are down in Jacksonville today and the game time is 3PM ...

I think it's on gametracker for those adicts that can't get enough baseball.

Jacksonville Univ(Atlantic Sun Conference) is leading Georgia Southern 10-5, going into the bottom of the 6th down at Jacksonville.

Pre-season, JU was projected to finish 6th in the A-Sun. GSU still doesn't have their offense on track this season, but they lost a lot of hitting from last year.

Former South Meck middle IF, Ben Kerr is on the Jacksonville roster.

Andrew Cruse (Hopewell) is opening the series for South Carolina. Arik Hempy (Garner) is on the mound for game #2 for the Gamecocks.

Now, if these guys had just stayed in their home state ......... :)

You coming to any games Prepster??

...and Tom Porter (North Mecklenburg) is expected to see significant action for Elon. Hence, the Hopewell - North Meck connection.

Additionally, Matt Chastain (Charlotte Latin) is expected to start for Elon.

Fortunately, SOME good arms stay in-state!

Unfortunately, I've got to travel on business this weekend. Trying to load as much business-related travel into this period as I can, so that I can squeeze a little more baseball viewing into subsequent weeks.

Best of luck to all involved! It's great to see so many local players in the thick of the fray!
