    PROVIDENCE landed SIX PLAYERS on the SW4A All*Conference Team.

    Mitch Besselievre (P-Sr)...SW4A Co*PLAYER of the YEAR, NC ALL STATE
    Spencer Hendel (P-Soph)
    Cory Dunning (OF-Sr)......PHS Offensive MVP
    Ryan Semeniuk (OF-Jr)
    Keith Mauney (IF-Jr)
    Dane Arneson (IF-Sr)

    Those not making the team but CRUCIAL to the Panther's Success this YEAR included: Austin Stephenson (IF-MR Clutch-Sr), Mike Moore (C-Sr), David Mailman (1B-29 hits and 3 HRs-Soph), David Scism (OF-2004 SW4A 1st Team Selection-Jr).

    Olympic and the SW4A Conference

    Two players from Olympic High School were named to the SW4A all conference team:
    Nate Staton (Sr.)-OF OHS Offense Award
    Greg Conrad (Sr.)-P Also the OHS MVP

    Congrats to these two fine young men on this accomplishment and for an outstanding Senior season!! Great job, guys!! We're very proud of you.
    Nate, by the way, will be attending Liberty this fall in his pursuit of becoming a youth minister.
    Greg is still unsigned but a decision will be coming VEEERRRY soon!! He'll be playing showcase ball this summer with Freddy Suggs and the Uwharrie Anglers.

    Rest of the team

    As reported in the Charlotte Observer today, the rest of the team included:
    South Meck: David Rubenstein (co-POY), Ryan Morris, Chase Austin, Jonathon Ratledge, Wes Borden, Reid Rollison
    East Meck: Brett Alter, Justin Schumer, Matt McNichol
    Butler: Andrew Smith
    Myers Park: Scott Matthews

    Congrats to all these young men. While as always there are some notable omissions, each of the nineteen players included is well deserving of the honor.

    Congrats also to Danny Hignight, named SW4A coach of the year after his second year at the helm at Providence.
