Southern Alamance is seeking its third NCHSAA state baseball title but first since 1988. The Pats, the 3-A runners-up in 1992, have won 17 of their last 18 games. Brent Haynes is batting a sterling .495 for Southern Alamance and is 8-0 on the mound with a 1.13 ERA.

Out takes from Game #1 against South Central:
Southern Alamance got all the runs it needed on one swing of the bat by Dave Sappelt in the top of the first. With two outs, Brent Haynes doubled to the fence in left-center field to keep the inning alive. Sappelt then stepped to the plate and sent Matt Scoggin's first offering over the fence in center field for a two-run homer.

Leading hitters: SA – Michael Parker 1-3; Brent Hayes 2-3, 2B; Dave Sappelt 2-3, HR, 3 RBIs; Thomas Sappelt 1-3

SA also beat a SUPER team in Kernersville Glenn 11-9 in the 2nd round.

This should be a good series to watch...I'll be there...NWC has plenty of fire power too...pitching to go along with the hitting....Hickory, Sun Valley and Piedmont are SUPER teams too.....Anyone coming to the games?(1A 3A 4A)

BEST OF LUCK TO THE TROJANS!

Wow it sounds like Southern Alamance has a very powerful team. I hate I can't make the games this weekend, but all of them should be great series.

We'll be staying at the Residence Inn Crabtree with the NWC Trojans and taking in some :wine: "local NC State color" @ Amedeo's Italian :wine: (killer lasagna!!!!!) Friday nite. It should be a couple of good shootouts :guns: :guns6: :FightenSm
