Parker Bangs is the latest NC junior HS prospect heading south of the border.
Bangs and Addison Johnson have committed to Clemson.
Ryan Morris is headed to USC.
The Gamecocks have been working this angle for awhile instate, but the pursuit of NC "early birds" seems like a new development.
Will NC schools respond by pursuing juniors ?
Is it time to redefine the "early" signing period ?
If the new early period is the junior year, then it stands to reason that players will be evaluated earlier, making the summer and fall seasons of rising juniors increasingly important. With this in mind, do you think we will see more top players moving away from legion teams to showcase teams ?

This is the wave of the future IMO. UNC is notorious in waiting late to recruit, but if their rivalries are locking up their recruits early, they will be forced to start doing the same thing.

The one thing I wonder is this. College baseball has a history of honoring commitments from both player and school, but with the advent of all the Junior signings, will the commitments get tested.

Since SC & NC teams frequently meet in regionals and super regionals, this could be a double whammy when SC raids the cookie jar.

yeah....but it's tough for DBacks to type that. Orange has never been in his vocabulary before and he didn't like Tigers....but he is trying. I applaud his effort.

Thanks Braves...you know what I'm going through. I broke down and got the Clemson Baseball T-Shirt last weekend. I got the "purple" though...I still couldn't get the "orange" yet...I'm getting there.

Lonnie Chisenhall, a junior at West Carteret, has also committed to USC.
