The Carolinas are certainly under-represented on the list; I look for this number to double over the course of the year.

Jason Place is obvious.... In a lot of respects, I like him better than Cam Maybin..... He's committed to USC, but he'll never set foot on that campus. He's that good. For a HS student, he's the most disciplined hitter at the plate that I've ever seen. Pro body ... he's a no-brainer.

Josh Thrailkill is the same kind of player. Unless he's just absolutely set on college, he looks like a early rounder.

The NC/SC guys just don't play enough out of state to get national recognition like they deserve. They never have, but it's no big deal. A lot of these players will travel out of state this year and start getting seen. The list will grow and it will change tremendously between this spring and next spring.

Seagar is about the hardest out to get in NC ... Kid knows how to touch the ball and make things happen...

Can you give an update on the list for NC players?
I understand from PG that the rankings change from time to time as new scouting reports come in.

BB9er -- I checked this morning and the 2006 list has not been updatd since itwas posted on Feb. 16. Most of the new stuff is on the 2005 group and the upcoming draft.

Others That Could Be on That List

These are just players I have seen that are as good as some of the ones mentioned. I am sure there are others. It looks like the top 100 are ELITE level players. After that, these kids are as good as the ones below 100 IMHO.

    KENDRIC BURNEY OF SW ONSLOW
    DALLAS POULK SS PINE FOREST
    MAC READ LHP LUMBERTON
    BROOKS ARNETTE SS LAKE VIEW
    MO SEAY RHP/3B WRENN
