Charlotte Christian was hosted by Ashbrook in a 10 inning scrimmage Saturday. CCS put ten different pitchers on the mound giving up 2 runs. Ashbrook pitching gave up 7. Drew Martin surfaced on the hill and threw strikes to close out the 10th for the Greenwave.

Both teams looked tight at times, like it was the first game of the year or something. Charles Bradley (HR and 2B) and Matt Gantner stood out offensively for the Knights which will meet the Greenwave again later in the season for a more meaningful contest.

CCS has opened a baseball website: www.charlottechristianbaseball.com for that care to follow the Knights.

Great info Atl..and thanks for posting the team website. I'm a little bit surprised that Drew Martin pitched though. Recent years Drew has had a concern of hurting his arm. If I was him, I wouldn't risk it.

drew threw maybe 10-15 pitches, all fastballs so I don't think it was too bad.

Both teams did look very tight at sometimes, but the defense of the knights was solid overall. Bradley and Gantner did hit well, also did McGuirt(2-4, RBI). Tightness this early is not a concern, because it was a scrimmage. These two teams play again on March 8, at CCS at 7:00pm . That game should be a good one.

I saw Drew this week.... he said that he had fun pitching, but it's been awhile. He admitted he did throw 1 changeup.

You'll never, EVER meet a nicer young man than Drew.
