This conference is going to be up for grabs this season. Too many teams lost too many players last year for it to be predictable. Here is a quick synapsis from what I can gather from afar.

    West Stanly
    • Hit hard by graduation, losing 6 seniors.
    • Decent pitching (Tyler Almond & Kurt Benton)
    • Offense is an unknown.
    • Went 12-0 in conference last year, so may not slip much.

    North Stanly
    • Will Davis will provide the offense, but needs protection.
    • Davis may have to pitch too.
    • Lost a lot to graduation
    • New coach

    Mount Pleasant
    • Lost a lot to graduation (Chris Taylor, George Smith, Brett Fisher)
    • Could be a down year

    Charlotte Catholic
    • Sleeper team last year, winning conference tourney
    • Returns Nick Starcevic and Brendan Van Popering on the mound.
    • Should be solid enough to challenge for the top spot in conference

West Stanly did lose alot to graduation. They will still be very competive and young. Tyler Smith, Tyler Almond, Kurt Benton should be their studs this year.
A couple that will catch a few eyes are Will Honeycutt, and Matthew Burrelson.
The Honeycutt kid is the real deal at pitching and he is a sophmore. Burrelson should win the shortstop position as a sophmore this year, good speed, very good bat and soft hands.
North Stanly lost alot to graduation also, will be young at 2nd base if they start freshman, Ben Parah. Right now he looks as if he has the inside track for the job. A solid team overall, Will Davis will be one of their pitchers, maybe their best one. The Poplin kid will play short as of now, and he will throw the rock also for North. J.P. Culp is the new coach, there is a positive buzz from the kids about him. I believe he will do well.
Catholic should be the favorite with what they are returning from last years team.
Don't know alot about Mount Pleasant.

    Thanks DCL26:

It's great to get an insiders view. Keep us informed about who/what you are seeing in the conference. We never hear enough about the RRC

I don't know about Monroe, West Montgomery. I do know that Forest Hills was very young last year, which could make them a spoiler this season.

West Montgomery should be improved over last year, personally I believe that their best year will be in 2007, based on the talent level that I have seen over the last two years.
Forest Hill and Monroe don't know enough about to comment.

Mt. Pleasant will be down a little from past years in the Rocky River but they do have a few young kids that are impressive. Since Gary Swanson lead the Tigers to Championships in 4 years since 99 he has left and the duties are now to Coach Mike Carrikoff to get some productions from younger talent A Junior left Jesse Brown is a very good pitcher and just gets people out.
