I see NCbaseballfan has been doing a great job as always and we have quite a few new members contributing...that's great!!!

and for the players out there like Drew Martin, Adam Warren, etc., I haven't forgot about you guys..the interviews are on the way.

Man, I have so much to talk about...time to start some new threads!!!!!

I just assumed it was another of those "fishing trips"

Happy Thanksgiving to you also, Coach. I did get some fishing in. In fact I took the TBR bus around the state looking at some ballfields. We need to do a top 10 HS fields across the state or at least list the top field in one's area.

Hey Coach......Person's is looking pretty strong this year....exciting times for you and your school!!!

I believe we have the potential to be pretty good this year, that is if all the pieces come together. I am blessed with good kids and good assistant coaches, so if it all comes together we have a chance to be pretty good. There are too many darn good teams in this state so if y'all ahve any four leaf clovers, rabbit's feet, etc... just drop them in the mail to me. You know as well as I do luck is a big factor too...

We crank up for real in less than 3 months!!!

There is only a handful of coaches across the state that had to deal to the degree that you had to "O", when it comes to politics. It seems each year that the peripheral activities around a HS coach reduces his time of the one thing he wants to do most...teaching the game of baseball.

One can't help but think it's only going to get worse

    Thanks!

Braves for the comments! I have had much time to think and look back in retrospect on my "short" time at the "helm"! I realize I did many many things right and would have done as I had intended too YEt I also made perhaps some hasty, if not poor decisions as anyone who has a position with so much responsiblility would admit but sure Politics well of course but even more bewildering is being "recruited" for two years to teach and coach their. Give up MY game, resign a coaching position I was completely content with for MY family and proceed to take fine young athletes to records of 22-6, 18-2, 12-10, 15-8 (in three different sports) with two playoff appearances one playoff win and a COY as my peers saw fit to garner??? But really really look at the infrastructure...fine people, teachers, and coaches being kicked to the "curb" almost seasonally and certainly annually! I will not speak here publicly and say by far I am the greatest teacher in the world BUT the icing on the cake in my mind is the fact that I work as I still do bustin my *** in the classroom as I have for the past fifteen years! I'll be back better than ever and even in rarer form probably somewhere out in nowhere where kids passsion for the game and peoples appreciation for your effort and knowledge supercede all the LOW down crap as you said of course will get worse here and spread as well. As much as it has been tough and will continue to be so the game will ask and want me back! IMHO!?!?!?!? Meanwhile I will continue to write, being my other passion, of course about this game too!
