Not a 'pay to play' thing! (at least not the way I think of that!)

This was a 3 day showcase and not specifically for top prospects (although some of them were there). Pretty much standard stuff with 20 to 30 colleges represented. The first day was the pro-workout followed by the first game. Saturday there were 2 games and Sunday there was one. Alot of kids on each of the 4 teams (27 by my count). The coaches did a good job with the rotations.... The weather was absolutely wonderful and UNCW did a great job with the field and accomodating the people.

I did not recognize ALOT of the players. There were some names there from previous Impact showcases and those kids continued to show well. The teal team was primarily made up of 05 grads.

If you've already committed to a College/Univ, there wasn't any reason to attend. This past weekend was the last "contact event" before the NLI's go out. Once Wednesday hits, the Colleges/Universities (D1 at least) go into a "Dead Period" and cannot initiate contact off campus with players until after the Early NLI period is over.

The late showcase was for that last minute look at a player who hasn't been given an offer yet. Glad to hear it went well and the weather was good down in Wilmington. It was freezing down there last year at this time.
