    Who are the teams/players to watch in the Charlotte area this year?

    Is any one looking forward to Saturday at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary? Impact Baseball is hosting an awesome day for 11 of the best high school teams in the state. If you have been to Fleming Stadium in Wilson the last few years you know how fantastic this event is.

    Once again WHIG-TV is going to be taping the Rocky Mount/Ragsdale game and the Northern Nash/Conley game along with taping a highlight show of the 11 am games as well as the 2 pm games.

    What a great day!! I am also planning on giving away some Andy Partin signed baseballs to anyone that will do an on camera interview with me.

    Hope to see you all there enjoying some great baseball. Please post if you are going to be there. Good Luck to all the teams and players.

    My only regret

    is I will not get to hang out with you and take all the games in. There are some great match ups in this event and some really good teams. It looks lke the weather is going to be great as well.

    no respect

    just looked at baseball america's hs all american teams and did not see a single player from nc. After all the pub. we recieved last year i think we got snubbed this year. There were several pitchers with losing records on there yet J. Messer with a 15-0 and era 1.00 was left off. imo there were many snub like Lassiter, Hanover, and so on. BTW CA. had 12 players listed. I know its just there opinion but like i said no respect for NC.

    If you drive the South East portion of the 485 loop you will find some of the top teams and players in the city.

    Exit 3 – Arrowood Road to Sandy Porter– Olympic and Cory Roberts
    Exit 64 – Hwy 51 to Park Road – South Meck and Joe Shealy
    Exit 59 – Rea Rd to Ardrey Kell – AK and Jordan Darnell
    Exit 57 – Providence Rd to Hwy 51 – Providence and Richie Shaffer
    Exit 57 – Providence Rd to Weddington Rd – Weddington and Tyler Pilkington
    Exit 51 – Hwy 74 to Hwy 51 – Butler and Tyler Tewell

    Add the NCHSIAA teams on the southeast side like Christian, Latin, Country Day and Providence Day and you can find top level high school baseball being played somewhere nearly everyday.

    Not enough? In the city there is MP and Chris Overman, and the north side of town has North Meck and Hopewell that are strong teams with some outstanding individuals as well. And this is just a start.
