Western NC weather update. 12:20 PM, Tuesday 3/2

Currently a small band of showers (very brief) is moving over Rowan county. There is an isolated patch of showers near Asheville but most of the bad rain is staying to the west of the mountains in Tennessee. There is a patch of rain in western Lincoln county.

Rest of the west looks cloudy, but clear.

Very nice . . . sunny and probably into the 70s. A lot like yesterday.

1:00 PM 3/2 Heavy showers have forced their way over the mountains just north and slightly east of Asheville. A few moutain games look iffy, but the Piedmont looks good (unless some of the fields are too wet still from the snow).

The heavy rain that was threatening Asheville is moving quickly to the NE and is getting near to the Virginia line ... let's just hope it crosses the border and stays there.

A strong band of storms has developed and is moving just north of the Winston-Salem region. It has just passed over the Surry area. I looks to be heading more easterly than northerly. It could be hitting the Greensboro region within an hour.

He's doing pretty well. His arm is in good shape and he is throwing a lot stronger than this past fall. Well spent time in the weight room. He will be the opening day starter whenever the weather cooperates. FB is up to about 87 now. As for bragging rights, I am real proud that he earned his Eagle Scout award a couple of weeks ago.

Asheville should suprise a lot of folks this year even as a young team. They just have to learn to play as a team and not as a group of individuals. Hope WH has a good year this season.
