Oh...one other thing I want to mention. I saw Frankie Lewis at the State Games and I just fell in love with the way he played. I've had a chance to see him at a couple of other tournaments this summer "Impact Showcase" and he has never failed to impress me.

I dunno, the Cubs have a lot of talented players...some with more natural ability than Frankie, but I'll never forget that young man....and I will keep my eye on him all school year.

    Braves,
    Wow...6'9...he should play basketball!
Sorry I don't remember anyone that tall on the mound that Sun. we played.

    Yes ODU was wood bats.
Greenhaw hit the HR....hanging curveball and did it sound good.
Quate, Musselman, and Southerland were the starters with every pitcher that came getting in some good innings. Pitching looked very good.
    Great team effort all week-end.

    Impact Invite week-end at UNCW

Beautiful weather and just 2 great fields to sit and enjoy games all week-end. Cubs went 3-0 beating Florence-DT Stingers at Ashley HS, and Louisburg, and Carolina Spartans at UNCW. Two Cubs hit HR's at UNCW field.
The only disappointment was not getting to see the Dirtbags or Gamers play. I thought since Impact put on the showcase one of those teams would be playing. Rookies were there but always played at the other field from where Cubs played.

BTW Braves....did see your "adoptive son".
    He is very tall!
When the team huddled, he was "heads above" everyone else.

Yeah, I was surprised that the Dirtbags didn't play either. Gamers were returning from Florida, so that didn't surprise me, but the Dirtbags really haven't played in awhile.

Awesome weekend for the Cubs, though.

...and you saw Morgan Tyson, huh! Did he get to pitch against you guys? Morgan is not fast, but has great command.

    No not against the Cubs.
He sat with some other pitchers at least some of the time down low right behind homeplate and charted or clocked.

    Braves,
I was under the impression that Rookies went to Ft Myers (roster posted on WWBA)while Dirtbags and Gamers were playing that same week-end in a Louisburg tourney.
