Help me with TBR rules.......

    I understand it is improper to talk about a player by name in a negative way. Makes sense!! Another member posted today some comments about really bad on the field behavior by a player and used the young man's name. The post was removed. I guess I understand that too....I guess.
    Is there a cutoff below which we should not include a player's BA, or ERA, etc? You know, just like in school, grades are grades and in baseball, stats are stats.
    For example, is the following hypothetical going to get removed: "Last season, Johnny Davis led the Vikes batting .444 with 45 RBI's. So far this year he is batting .123 with no RBI's but his fielding continues to be perfect"...
    Just trying to understand the rules. I love this Board and don't want to offend (or get excommunicated).:splat:

    Why can't we be nice....it is so easy to do!

    Calling out people by name with disparaging comments is a no no! Braves has a list of do's and don'ts that I am sure he will repost today for the new members to read.

    Wonder if I will get banned for saying Scotty is a great singer BUT he can't pitch a lick!

    FYI, Braves only hit .123 with no rbis for his entire career,,,,,,, so dont make fun of that particuler example,,,,,,,,,, he may not laugh. :smiley2:

    That's like picking on stretchy and calling him vertically challenged..... not that anybody around here would do anything like that :)

    The point of the rules is there are other places people can go to rant and rave about a player/coach in HS. I wanted to start a site that didn't do that. That a player, coach and family could feel welcomed to contribute without fear of being attacked.

    Does it happen? Sometimes, but we try to moderate it. However, the best moderators are the existing members. They know what TBR is about and they tend to do a great job of policing it themselves without any help. When they do that, I and the other moderators stay out of it.

    The other thing to keep in mind is it is very easy to discuss "hot topics" as long as we don't make it personal. Example: HS recruiting is always a sore subject, but it can be discussed without pointing fingers at a particular person. It's not fair, those people can't respond to the attack....unless they are members and even then, I don't want to add to their grief.:kid:

    As far as tj21, Stretchy and Coach Evans are concerned, I always allow them to post their untruths....they are on medication, so I overlook it :stoned2:
