Too bad you guys lost Travis Watkins to Cox Mill, that kid can play. Had the pleasure of coaching him at Dixie Youth years ago. Will Bigham move to 2b or stay at 3rd?

Your guess is as good as mine. How about the rest of the SPC? How's MP, CC, HR, JMR, CM and Concord going to be this year?

    Weyco-
First off, I teach World History and evidently our definitions of the word "dynasty" differ greatly! Thanks for the compliment...but we have a lot of work to do in order to be remotely worthy of that type of praise. Nice to see after a rough year, however, that we haven't totally been written off. We look forward to showing up better in 2011.

I like the player list - some really talented kids in that mix (although Jamey Lee has graduated). Can't wait til some of those graduate - seems like some have been around this area for decades!

We'll be ok. Everything that could have gone wrong last year (transfers, injuries, attitude problems, etc) did and we have 9 players back that got at least 15 varsity AB's last season, so that experience should help. Pitching staff will still be real young, but our D will be a lot better and the other issues have been "taken care of".

Our deepest classes are our 9th & 10th graders, so we like to think the future is bright. Should be an incredible season with talented teams and some great league coaches....looking forward to it.

I think you did an incredible job last season and you have such passion for coaching. Your website alone blows me away, you keep your kids and parents informed of every detail in regards to your baseball program. Don't sell yourself short, you do an amazing job.

Thank God I was wrong about Jamie, that was one tough pitcher.

One thing I kept noticing while I compiled the list, was most played AAU/USSSA baseball. I've seen most of these kids play since they were 8 or 9, just shows hard work in the offseason, pays off when it counts.

I think NWC wins the conference, but I think 6 teams battle for the other 3 playoff spots. The SPC is one of the top conferences in the state, so get ready to rumble! Good luck coach and all the SPC teams.

Infield fly i don't know about people respecting what i say but i will give you my take of the Mavericks this year. These guys have started for Mallard Creek for four years. They have taken their whipping and have grown up and have gotten bigger, stronger and better every year and now they are seniors who have represented Mallard Creek proudly.

1.John Murry- back at thirdbase who defense is as good as anyone in the state.
    2.Mikal Hill- back at Shortstop.
3.Blaine Lewis- catcher, who is and excellant offensive player and one of the best at blocking and throwing which gives the pitchers confidence to throw any pitch at any time. Very surprise that he hasn't committed somewhere. Outstanding athlete.
4.Michael Boles- Pitcher, relative unknown in this area but should have a breakout season and will play at the next level.
5.Tyler McCarthy-pitcher, mainstay of the pitching staff, should have a outstanding year
6.Garret Hillman- Firstbaseman, pitcher, has made big plays and gotten big hits for us. Could have a big impact on the season, if he steps up with a big year.

A.Brandon Wilkerson-outfielder who is fast, athletic and very powerful. will be his second year starting in the outfield.Being looked at by different schools.
B.Jamel Harbison-outfield, identical player as Wilkerson, in that is very fast, athletic, powerful(jr) upside is off the charts.Being looked at by Clemson for Football and Baseball.
C.Kurt Morgan-infield, outstanding player who is the baby in this group(soph). already being recruited by numerous D1 schools. A year stronger, bigger and loves to play. I think defensively and offensively Mallard Creek can be one of the best teams in the state.
If the pitching comes through could be one of the surprise teams in the state. With that said, academics, injuries and other outside distractions can change a team very quickly

Pirates- Please don't take this the wrong way, but this post is about the SPC and Mallard Creek is in the I-Meck now. They WERE in a conference with us and they have a great program so the information you provided was very accurate.
There is a post about the I-Meck here - I'd copy what you have and paste it there because I'm guessing some I-Meck fans would definitely want this information. A lot of teams are going to struggle to beat Mallard Creek - definitely a program on the rise.
Thanks - good luck this season. coach Knight
