Russell to Tar Heels!

2011 graduate and top-shelf infielder/outfielder Michael Russell recently committed to the University of North Carolina. The right-handed hitting offensive catalyst helped lead the DIRTBAGS to the 2010 World Wod Bat Association Championship in Jupiter, FL.

 

Michael has always been one of my favorites since him and mikal played together and against each other, since they were nine. Those HEELS just got one of the best players and hardest working kids in the state. I feel so proud that another one of my kids has the opportunity to continue their education and play the game that they love. Damn those HEELS!. Congratulations to Michael and the entire Russell Family.

What is his High School?

 

Congratulations to Michael....this Hopewell player battled back from a severe broken leg suffered during the first game of HS baseball this spring to secure a coveted spot at a top shelf school. Michael has come all the way back this fall and excelled at Jupiter...while leading the defense for his HS football team...what an effort!

 

Congratulations to Michael and his family. I have enjoyed my time this fall visiting with his father during the fall tournaments/events and what a great young man. Many folks from a distance confuse him and my son Hunter Bryant with each other in the batters box as they have similar stances and height/build etc. Again, congrats from Pat and Hunter Bryant
