......I've seen a few that were really cool.

    1. Wndmlr has a wooden bat that the barrell is cut into the shape of the letter "U".
He sets up a "string line" and slings plastic balls down the line for a kid to swing at.

    2. Another cool one, PVC pipe that a parent drops a ball into and the kids swing when the ball drops out. Raise the drop point and the kid has more time to adjust, lower it and the kid has to have quick hands.

Whats up TBR, I know ya'll have some gigs of your own to tell us about.

How about butter beans thrown to a batter using a thunderstick?

Aint' nothin more homemade than some good 'ol butterbeans.

The ones that don't get smashed are put in a pot with some fatback and whew!, salt and extra pepper, and we'll hit later.

That's a great hitting drill Fish!

I've seen teams use deflated basketballs and I guess they see this as a way to build "swing strength" or something... but, if a kid can hit a butterbean or dry peas, then when that big "yeller ball" comes down the pipe, it'll look like a beach ball.

...nice. I do remember the deflated basketballs as well. To be sure some arm/wrist strength can be gained hitting those bad boys.
