Those of you who have watched Leah Quant, Missy Wills and Kelsey VanderHill over the years will have an opportunity to see them honored and play in their last official home game this evening at 5:30pm at Providence HS v. Myers Park. I know there are many fans of these young women out there who may not be Providence folks, so I wanted to let you know of their special day.

Seniors will be honored at 5:15 prior to the game.

This will be Coach Stefanski's and my first four year class at Providence. Having been there for four seasons now and be a part of such a wonderful school, program and team has tremendous meaning to us. It is very bitter sweet to have watched these ladies grow and now leave us very soon. Bitter because we are extremely sad to watch them leave of course and sweet to see what they have been able to do with their playing careers, personal achievements and how they will continue in life not just labeled as an athlete or ball player, but as a person who positively contributes to our society and their future universities.

    Congratulations Leah, Missy & Kelsey!

    Fitting end for the seniors...

Senior performances today were as follows:
WP: Leah Quant pitched 5 innings, striking out 13 of the 15 outs recording another fine outting on the mound.

Missy Wills went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Missy smoked the ball in all 3AB's.

Kelsey VanderHill went 2 for 3 hitting a sharp double, scoring a run and recording a RBI as well.

    Great job ladies.

Providence has one regular season game left Monday @ East Meck. SW4A Conference Tournament begins next Thursday.

13-3. Missing one regular season game with Olympic. Our AD has tried to make it up several times. One more regular season game left.

10-3 in conference. Sitting second right now. Waiting on Weddington to play Butler tonight and Ardrey Kell next week to decide 2-4 standings. We must win an important game v. East Meck on Monday. If we do that and If Weddington wins out, it comes down to a coin flip who gets second place. If they lose a game they will be tied with AK for third. If they beat Butler, but lose to AK, even though their records are the same, AK would be third due to beating Weddington twice head to head. Bottom line, everyone needs to take care of business, especially us on Monday.

    Hope that makes sense.

    I hear ya...

We did have an AD transition last year, but not sure that played a part. He has tried to get one of those games back we lost without much luck. Two years in a row we have lost a tournament due to rain outs where they canceled and never rescheduled. We had so much rain at the start of season that for several weeks we had three games a week. Unlike baseball, we have limited pitching staff numbers and as a smart program will protect our staff to continue success in conference and beyond to endure the season. More then three games a week could turn into a not good situation. Wish we had a few more games, but we are not the only team that got hurt this season.

    Thanks for the well wishes.

Great stick on this girl and a great attitude to boot. Way to go....there certainly will be a place in Western Carolina's line up for a hitter like this...........

    These 3 seniors...

have contributed and produced they way you hope and expect of your seniors. They have certainly led the way on the ball field this season. Great regular season ladies, lets keep rolling on into TOURNAMENT TIME! The best part is just getting started. Its been a fun year and we are so very proud of the seniors and our entire squad! Panthers, we will have to do another B&J day soon!
