The Countdown is On!

Outstanding!!!!!

 

I could never sit still during my son's junior and senior years in high school, and my favorite place to stand was beside the grill. Something about the aroma of hot dogs and hamburgers coupled with sizzling peppers and onions just seems to go hand-in-hand with a baseball game. My favorite was a chili-cheeseburger.

I got butterflies in my stomach at the beginning of every game, and I knew better than to attempt a conversation with my husband, who was deeply involved in keeping his book. (Those are a treasure to look back on!)

Thankfully, we get to cheer for a new team this year, as my son begins his first year of college baseball. I got to watch them scrimmage this fall, and couldn't have been prouder. High school baseball went by in a blink. Taught me to enjoy every game--good or bad. I can't wait until February 20, when they take the field for the first time this season. Sure hope they have chili-cheeseburgers!

Ok...this made me cry....

I HATE to anticipate the season starting so quickly because time is moving so damn FAST! The sooner they start, the sooner it will end, but I canNOT stand the waiting a moment longer. I just got off the phone with my son's coach and I was almost yelling at HIM for how long the off-season seems to be. Mincmi brought me to the ballpark...and I can feel the warmth and hear the sounds of the game. Hurry up already, but how do we collectively slow time so we can better enjoy it?
