A 16-year-old schoolgirl is making a pitch to become the first woman to play professional baseball in Japan.
High school student Eri Yoshida was drafted by the Kobe 9 Cruise, a professional team in a new independent Japanese league that starts its first season in April.

    my thoughts

I might be able to generate some thoughts on this subject. Maybe I can see her play. I'll let you know.

Initially I will say that it aint gonna be easy. Like in the US the competitive environment is just that. Very competitive. Hard work is the key to anyones success. Outwork the next one beside you and you may just come out on top.

Lots of variables of course. DNA being one of them. BUT! There is the "If."

IF, with the odds, you put fourth YOUR best effort you MAY come out on top.

IF you do not put your best effort forward then forget it. Other variables can take center stage and derail you.

Lastly I will say that you must put fourth your best effort as it is mostly the only variable that you can control.

I will say go girl. If she is able to play the position & win the spot. No problem. Give your team the best chance to win. I remember some years back. Me son played against a coulple of teams that had female players. They made the plays and could hit the ball as well as the boys.

If this becomes the norm it sure would take some of the fun out of watching the game for me, if you know what I mean . . . . but that's just me. Come on, it's a MAN'S game, that's one of the reasons us moms like it so much.

(Am I in trouble now?) :goingoninhere:
