Babe Ruth 15's Eastern North Carolina State Tourney in Greenville

    The Eastern NC state tournment started today in Greenville at historic Guy Smith Stadium.

    Game one- Henderson-Vance defeated Johnston County.
    Game two- Nash County defeated Lumber River.
    Game three- Newport defeated Chatam County.
    Game four had the host Greenville team over ELCIPACA (I think Greenville won, it was 9-1 at last report)

    The winners bracket tomorrow will have Henderson-Vance playing Nash County and Newport playing Greenville.

    Johnston County will play Lumber River and Chatam County will play ELCIPACA.

    Update from Fridays action.

    Nash County wins vs Henderson. Greenville wins vs Newport. Nash County and Greenville match up in the finals of the winners bracket tomorrow at 3.

    Henderson Vance plays Lumber River who defeated Johnston County by turning a triple play with the bases loaded in the 7th inning in a one run game.

    Newport will play West Chatam who defeated ELCIPICA today.


    One additional note is that Diesel1 Jr. is having a great tournment with 2 bombs in two games with a couple of doubles and a single or two to go with it. He is absolutely crushing the baseball.

    Update from today's action.

    In the winners bracket game, Greenville comes from behind to beat Nash County 4-3 with a walkoff 2 run home run in the bottom of the 7th.

    Lumber River is currently playing Chatem County to see who plays Nash County for the right to face Greenville in the Championship.

    And yes Braves, RV is licking his chops, the big boy hits another bomb today.

    Thanks Braves and FCP..He just has fun...

    Acronym for (I believe) ELizabeth CIty, PAsquatank, CAmden Counties. Might even be some Currituck thrown in there, I reckon. Large geographic area and pulls their team from those areas.

    Nash pitcher throws a great game (as does Greenville pitcher) - Nash coaches had good game plan to work the Greenville hitters. Tight, well played ball game by both teams. HR in 6th ties it and 2 run HR in 7th wins it.

    Nash County will play Lumber River 2:00 Sunday and winner will play Greenville for State Championship.

    FCPirate - get your boys ready for Lumber River - they are ready to play - complete with rowdy fans...lol They defeated Chatham County in 5 innings 16-6 in the night cap.

    LOL from what I heard, ALOT of teams have some of those rowdy fans.

    The boys are a little shell shocked, I hope they come ready to play tomorrow.

    Diesel 1 Jr. did not hit the walkoff, it was someone else, leadoff batter, Hasty I think. Big'en hit a solo shot earlier in the game.
